Design Personalized Canning Labels With PrintRunner
Check out grocery aisles and you will surely find hundreds of canned food brands on the shelves. With the tough competition, your brand needs to rise above and catch the attention of potential customers. This is where canning labels come in. Here are some easy ways you can customize your canning labels for your brand:
1. Decide on a label format
Choose from sheet, roll, or cut-to-size labels depending on your business need. The minimum order quantity for each is as follows: 25 pieces for cut-to-size, 25 sheets for sheet labels, and 250 pieces for roll labels. Our roll labels are rolled on a standard 3” core which fits most label dispensers.
2. Determine the size of your label
Your canning label depends on the size of your packaging. PrintRunner offers labels in a variety of dimensions up to 17”. To determine the size of your canning label, measure the diameter of your packaging, and choose the corresponding label size from our product calculator.
3. Select the shape you want.
You can opt for standard label shapes like rectangle, square, circle, and oval for a more traditional look. If you’re looking to make your products truly stand out and be unforgettable, try arch, hexagon, heart, starburst, and custom shapes.
4. Choose your material.
Canning labels are available in two materials: paper sticker, premium sticker, white vinyl, and BOPP. White paper sticker comes with three (3) types of finishing—gloss, matte, and high gloss while premium sticker only has gloss and matte. White vinyl sticker is waterproof and UV-resistant and comes with a high-gloss finish that makes designs pop. BOPP is oil and water-resistant, making it the best option for refrigerated canned products. All canning label materials are self-adhesive and stick to almost any smooth, dry surface.
5. Design your label.
Upload your artwork or create a label design from scratch using our beginner-friendly online design tool. You may add text, insert shapes and lines, and even upload images to create a truly unique canning label. All orders come with a complimentary file check – we’ll send a preview for you to review before we start printing.
Canning Label FAQs
Can I use the canning labels on the lids?
Yes, our labels adhere well to almost any smooth surface and can be used on can lids.
Are canning labels writable?
Only the matte white paper sticker is writable. It doesn’t have any gloss coating, so you can use ballpoint pens and markers to label your products with ease.
What are the most popular sizes for canning labels?
Our 2” and 2.5”’ round labels and 3.25”x2” horizontal rectangle labels are the preferred options for pint-sized cans and mason jars. For those who prefer putting labels on the lid, our 2” round labels are the perfect fit for regular mouth lids while the 2.5” option works best for wide mouth lids.
